How can anyone be so stupid to believe the world will end in 2012?

This theory has been said many many times. 2012, like all other past predictions is a lie and a hoax. What happens is that an event goes on and people completely blow it out of proportion. And anyone who has lived long enough should realise the number of times they've been decieved. Remember an idiot said that the world would end on May 21st 2011?? Well guess what? May's just gone and nothing's happened! The theory for 2012 is that the Mayan Calender ENDED on 2012 but does it say anywhere that the Mayans thought the world would end?? AIl it did was got recycled and it probably had ended it's run. Remember 1999 about a stupid error bug just because a programme went faulty? Remember 1966 and 2006 when that was supposedely the mark of Satan and people thought a fire would arise and burn the earth? All these are total crap. The world has had no signs of being in danger and no professional scientists had claimed that anything bad will happen. Are people just being paranoid and reading too much fiction?
