Is my boyfriend lying to me?

I don't think he's lying, maybe his feelings got hurt when you said you wanted to eat with your family first. So he decided to spend time with his family. I wouldn't worry about it unless you catch him in a really big lie! Guys have feelings to just like girls even if they don't show them like we do. At least he called you back and told you what was up. But I don't think phones can pick up like that and hung up but he could have been sitting on it, who knows. But I really wouldn't worry about it.
