I asked a girl out that i didn't even know, is there a chance we can still go out?

I saw this girl for the first time and she was absolutely beautiful. I'm sort of a shy guy so I didn't really know how to start talking to her. I ended up getting her number from a friend. Being the idiot that i am and given how unexperienced in relationships i am, i asked her out. She said i don't even know you and that was that. After that i went to almost all of her orchestra concerts and after each i'd compliment her on how she did a good job. I've gotten to know who she is more in person not over text, even though we've never talked one on one in person. The last time i texted her was when it was around her birthday and she was going to france for spring break. We had a seemingly normal conversation and she had a couple of haha's and what not. She never will iniate a conversation with me however. I'm really interested in this girl and want to know if there is anyway i can start to mend this so we can actually become friends and move on from their. In case it matters, i just finished my sophmore year of high school, i asked this girl out as a freshmen. I also have little to no experience with dating because even though i'm young i still try to find girls that i actually like and have only had 3 crushes. I'd really appreciate any help or advice.
