Whats wrong with my phone? sound help!?

I just recently bought. The samsung intercept. Its and android phone and I love it the only problem that I have been having is that the sound stopped working or something because I can not here my music or ringer not even notification sounds. All it will do is vibrate. Can someone help me with this problem I have tried to find out on my own but I can't seem to find anything.
