Why does yahoo chess don't work?

I have a lot of problems trying to access yahoo chess because it wants you to download the active x control and microsoft will always blocks it saying "that's a unknown publisher" and the name of the file is called "index'." Is it infected with spyware by the hackers using this game or is my security just a bit different set up. Please answer and don't be dumb idiots this is serious.
